Germany couldn't afford another setback with the 2014World Cup just around the corner. They got just that with the news this morning that striker Marco Reus would miss the entire tournament after with ligament tears in his left ankle. The injury occurred on Friday in their friendly match against Armenia when Reus rolled his ankle and needed to be helped off the pitch.

Head coach Joachim Löw remains optimistic about his team's depth, saying, “Our quality in the position behind the strikers is very high. We have Lukas PodolskiAndre Schurrle, Mario Götze, Thomas MüllerMesut Ozil, Julian Draxler and Toni Kroos to give us plenty of alternatives." However, the roster is undeniable riddled with question marks, including Sami Khedira and Phillipp Lahm, who are available but still recovering from injuries.

Löw has decided to replace Reus with defender Shkodran Mustafi from Sampdoria.
