Back in 1996, skateboarding veteran Jahmal Williams was asked what the future held for his sport. Since then, he's been helping shape the answer, and now, nearly 20 years later, with hundreds of hours more experience on his trucks, Williams is still around and respected enough to comment on the same question. He's no longer just a skater anymore, though, he's an artist and the owner of HOPPS Skateboards, operating right here out of New York City. We caught up with Williams in Brooklyn at the House of Vans to discuss the old days and talk about the current state of the continually growing culture.
