FIFA didn't waste any time with regards to handing down a suspension to Luis Suarez in light of what he did to Giorgio Chiellini during the Uruguay/Italy World Cup match earlier this week. Suarez allegedly bit Chiellini during the match and, as a result, FIFA has decided to suspend him for nine matches and ban him from any "football-related activity" for the next four months:

DISCIPLINARY: Uruguay’s Luis Suarez suspended for 9 matches & banned for 4 months from any football-related activity.

No word yet on whether or not Suarez will appeal the suspension and the ban. But we would guess that he will appeal, given the fact that Uruguay has advanced to the knockout stage of the World Cup.

Do you think that FIFA let him off too easy here—or does the punishment fit the crime?
