Every year, hundreds of people gather outside of the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York to tryout for one of the most coveted summer jobs in sports—US Open ballperson. The ballperson is responsible for making sure the game moves along efficiently by retrieving arrant tennis balls and, when necessary, taking a returned serve to the body. So what does it take to work alongside Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic (without being freakishly athletic and skilled at tennis)? Well, Complex News took the 7 Train to Queens for the 2014 US Open Ballpersont Tryouts. Check it out.
