You can count as us shocked that former President Bill Clinton cares about basketball, let alone knows who Derek Fisher is. Clinton is always full of surprises, though, and just sent out the following tweet:
My good friend and fellow Arkansan @derekfisher & I now have one more thing in common: New York. Congratulations, D-Fish.
It’s been a big day for Fisher, who on top of the chummy presidential shoutout was introduced this morning as the new head coach of the New York Knicks. He’s in charge of a huge rebuilding effort, and his first priority has to be working with Phil Jackson to make sure the team keeps Carmelo Anthony.
With the Clinton endorsement, Fisher at least has a powerful ally in his corner.
