First, the good news: A moose that was crossing I-295 in Richmond, Maine is alive today because of a truck driver's quick thinking. However, that's about the only good news you're going to read in this post.

That moose is alive because, on Tuesday night, a trucker driving through Richmond saw it before he crashed into it and swerved out of the way. When he did, though, he veered off into the median on I-295, lost control of his truck, and crashed into an embankment. He was OK after the accident. But unfortunately, his truck wasn't. It was loaded with a bunch of potatoes at the time and split in half as a result of the crash, sending potatoes flying everywhere and causing a gigantic mess in the process.

You can see all of the (now mashed!) potatoes spilling out of the truck in the photo above. We hope that moose is happy and lives a long and fulfilling life after all of the trouble that he caused for the trucker.
