Late last week, a 27-year-old New Jersey man named Kenneth Price Jr. asked his girlfriend to buy him a pack of cigarettes. However, she refused to buy them for him. And at that point, he should have said, "OK," and moved on with his life. But unfortunately, he reacted much differently than that.

A short time after the woman refused to buy Price Jr. cigarettes, the man—who was driving in Toms River, N.J. at the time—decided that he was going to show his girlfriend how angry he was with her for denying his request. So according to police, he started intentionally swerving his car and, eventually, drove the car directly into a utility pole and caused quite a bit of damage. He also caused his girlfriend to suffer a severe head wound and then fled the scene of the crime on foot before police arrived.

Price Jr. didn't stay on the lam for long, though. Shortly after the accident occurred, police tracked him down and placed him under arrest. He was charged with reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving while suspended causing serious bodily injury. His girlfriend had to be treated at a local hospital but is going to be fine.

All this over a pack of smokes?! Yikes.
