How do you one-up building a Mustang on top of the Empire State Building? Go even higher! A group of Ford sales managers from Stockton, California took a 2015 Ford Mustang and launched it into the final frontier.

Well, okay it wasn’t a real Mustang. The guys fitted a Revell Mustang model to a high-altitude weather balloon and sent it soaring. It took 74 minutes for the balloon to reach its max height of 110,000 feet (almost 21 miles), before it came back down to Earth. Using GPS, the launch team was able to recover the ‘Stang after it touched down in a field.

Ford has built more than nine million Mustangs in the past 50 years, but only one of them has been in space.
