Floyd Mayweather Threatened to Not Fight Marcos Maidana Tonight Over Dispute Regarding Boxing Gloves

Floyd Mayweather and his camp aren't so happy with Marcos Maidana's choice in gloves and Money's team is threatening to pull out of the fight.

If you were looking forward to seeing Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana square off in the ring tonight, we nearly had some bad news for you. Following the weigh-in last night, things took an unexpected turn when Mayweather's manager, Leonard Ellerbe, stated that the custom blue-and-white Everlast gloves which Maidana planned on wearing for their bout didn't have enough padding in the knuckle area. Check out the video above to see how the whole dispute went down. 

Eventually, Maidana's camp decided to switch a pair of Cleto Reyes gloves which the Nevada State Athletic Commission have already approved. However, Mayweather's camp doesn't want Marcos to wear what SB Nation refers to as "probably the most 'puncher friendly' gloves in the top end of the boxing glove market" and they've went as far as to threaten to pull out of the fight if they don't get their way.
