How do you get a 2 a.m. update? Do something special. That's what rookie Troy Daniels did Friday night/Saturday morning. After appearing in just five games all season, the former D-League star hit a clutch three pointer to break a 116-116 tie and give the Rockets the lead and eventually their first win of the series. They call it the Development League for a reason, and Daniels certainly developed his three-point stroke with 599 attempts from downtown this year for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

While James Harden was Houston's leading scorer with 37 points (on 13-35 shooting) he was helped by big man Dwight Howard who pitched in 24 and 14. Damian Lillard scored 30 in a losing effort for Portland.

Even though the Trail Blazers aren't sweating yet (they're still up 2-1) the loss can have a devastating impact on momentum for the five-seed. At any rate it'll certainly be interesting to see which direction the series takes during Game Four Sunday.
