Is Subaru Bringing a Factory Rallycross WRX STi to New York?

Subaru might steal the New York Auto Show with this.

It's New York International Auto Show week. For the most part, we have a pretty good idea of what the major automakers are bringing to the floor. But, apparently, Subaru has been keeping a pretty big secret. That secret was just teased on Twitter this morning, revealing the corner of a beefed up WRX STI model with a bright baby blue wing.

So what the hell is it? Well, immediate assumptions would go to a factory rallycross STI. You can see it has a carbon rear deck lid with a higher-extending lip, an extra carbon strip on the already-enormous wing, and an extra carbon pillar toward the center of the wing. Downforce, downforce, downforce! There's also that little piece of white at the bottom (and it's not a gas cap cover, as that's not where the gas cap is) that could possibly be numbers or another part of the livery. Subaru already has the special "Launch Edition" of the STI with the signature gold wheels (seen below).

We'll update you as soon as we know what this is.
