Well, that was fast! Less than a year ago, Manchester Unitedhired David Moyes to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson as their manager. But earlier today, they announced that Moyes has already been fired and will be replaced by Ryan Giggs. It's not a huge surprise, seeing as how there have been rumors about Moyes' job security floating around out there for the last week or so. But Man U dismissed Moyes rather unceremoniously this morning with a short statement.
"Manchester United has announced that David Moyes has left the club," the statement said. "The club would like to place on record its thanks for the hard work, honesty, and integrity he brought to the role."
That's a pretty nice way of saying "YOU'RE FIRED!" Unfortunately, though, Twitter hasn't been quite as kind. Since Moyes was officially sacked, the hashtag #MoyesSacked has been trending.
