An MLB prospect learned taking a fastball to the face is definitely one thing he'd want to avoid in the future.

Warning: 90 MPH fastballs will make your face fall off.

Taking a baseball to the face at that speed can even make a few wince at just reading it in a sentence. For the unimaginative, here's a picture of Astros prospect Delino DeShields and the right side of his face going, "Uh uh. I didn't sign up for this. I'm out. You're doing too much."

As for what the injury is:

Luhnow: Delino DeShields has a non displaced maxillary sinus fracture (left cheek). He will be further evaluated today. Absence time TBD

In other words, ouch. Hopefully he gets better soon though.
