If dinosaurs made a surprise comeback, you’d want to have a pretty robust getaway vehicle, which is probably why the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6 was chosen for the upcoming Jurassic Park film – Jurassic World. Mercedes isn’t exactly cranking-out loads of these off-road monsters, but it has been revealed that at least one 6x6 will make the silver screen debut on June 5, 2015.

The proportions of the G63 6x6 are staggering to say the least – measuring in at over 19 feet long and seven feet tall – it’s enough to make a T-Rex feel a bit undersized. Power comes from AMG’s 5.5L bi-turbo V8 and equates to 536hp and 560 lb.-ft. of torque, fed to a seven-speed transmission.

It’s a clever choice for the new film; especially considering that big off-road vehicles like these seem to be on their own path to extinction. And ironic because the fossil fuel it runs on is most likely derived from bits of long-gone dinosaurs and plants. Perhaps the second reboot will use a Tesla Model X…
