Over the course of the last two years, things have been going so well for Colin Kaepernick. He's now the starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. He's led his team to the NFL Playoffs twice. And he stands to sign a huge contract extension sometime in the near future. But according to TMZ, Kaepernick may have just run into a big roadblock in his personal life.

TMZ is reporting that police in Miami are currently investigating Kaepernick for alleged sexual assault. No charges have been filed against him and he hasn't been arrested for anything. But a source spoke with TMZ and told them that Miami police are in the "beginning stages" of investigating an alleged sexual assault that reportedly took place inside of a Miami hotel earlier this month.

TMZ reached out to the 49ers and they released a statement saying that the team is "aware of the recent media report regarding Colin Kaepernick and is in the process of gathering the pertinent facts." Stay tuned for additional details.

UPDATE:

Yikes. Some new details about the alleged incident involving Kaepernick have been released and they don't sound good. According to TMZ, the woman who was involved in the case may have been drugged on the night in question and doesn't remember much about what happened. You can read the new details over here.

UPDATE 2:

Miami police still haven't placed any charges against Kaepernick. But in their police report, they noted that two other NFL players—49ers wide receiver Quinton Patton and Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette—have also been questioned for their alleged involvement in what they're now calling a "suspicious incident."

UPDATE 3:

Kaepernick has denied all of the reports that are floating around out there.
