At least when Marbury was playing for Larry Brown he was, you know, playing. A few seasons later he lamented the loss of his coach because newcomer Mike D'Antoni saw him as a full-time bench player. After Coach D'Antoni explained Marbury's role as one where he can come off the bench up to 35 minutes a night, Marbury disagreed. This might seem like typical athlete-diva behavior but Marbury, reportedly, refused to enter a game for a depleted Knicks team that had only eight healthy players. At that point he was barred from attending team practices and games. It would be like you telling your boss "No," getting sent home, and then collecting $150,000 a day in unemployment.
