Back in 2010, Brazilian soccer player Bruno Fernandeswas arrested and charged with killing his girlfriend Eliza Samudio, who was pregnant with his child at the time of her death. He initially denied any wrongdoing and said that he hadn't played a part in her murder. But he eventually confessed to it and was subsequently sentenced to more than 22 years in jail. So the thought was that it was game over for his soccer career.

Apparently, that's not the case, though. Because while Bruno still has quite a bit of jail time ahead of him, he was reportedly just signed to a five-year deal by the Montes Claros club in Brazil. And because Brazil law permits felons to achieve some freedom after serving the first three or four years of their sentence, he's perfectly within his rights to go and play for Montes Claros.

Bruno will have to obtain a judge's permission in order to attend practices and matches with the team. But still, the guy is in prison right now but will be allowed to continue to play professional soccer. How ridiculous is that?!
