The FBI wants you to know that shining a laser pointer at a helicopter, or any other aircraft, is not a casual prank. Although that seems obvious, a 26-year-old man in California is finding out the consequences for his uncasual prank: 14 years in prison

What makes his story even dumber is that he pointed his laser at a police helicopter. He was arrested back in 2012, convicted in 2013, and sentenced yesterday. The charge was attempting to interfere with the operation of an aircraft and comes with a maximum of 20 years. His girlfriend was also busted but hit with a lesser charge of pointing a laser at an aircraft. That has a max of only five years.

This should let you know that the FBI really isn't fucking around. Last month the bureau also announced a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of any similar pranksters.
