According to TMZ Sports, Roger Mayweather has not only filed a trademark application with the U.S.P.T.O. for the rights to the nickname, "Black Mamba," but the 52-year-old retired boxer is "in the final stages" of the process. And if you're wondering if Mayweather would run into any snags considering Kobe Bryant has gone by the same nickname for years now, a look into trademark claims shows that Kobe has never tried to put a trademark on it.

Barring any setbacks, the one and only "Black Mamba" will be Mayweather, who has been using the nickname for decades. Can any of you think of a good new nickname for Bryant?
