A 20-year-old's attempt to sleep it off in his car didn't work out so well. Police in Springfield, Mo. found the drunk dudeasleep at the wheel, and when they woke him up he drove right into the cop car. Furthering his streak of good decisions, he then refused to get out of the car.
Police charged the man for drinking under the influence. Even if he didn't drive into the cop car, he still could have been hit with a DUI. In Missouri a person only has to be in "operational control" of the vehicle to be charged. The department spokeswoman offered some straightforward advice: "Basically, stay out of the driver’s seat."
