That illusive, unfamiliar Lexus of just a few short months ago finally has a proper, official welcoming. Toyota Motorsports released this video that shows the 2014 Lexus RC F GT500 testing at Okayama International Circuit in Japan. Try to feign a smile.
The video features some great shots of the RC F banging out lap times, but goodness listen to that sound (no, not the throwback ’90s Japan-rock). The turbocharged 2.0L straight-four puts down 500 hp, around the same output of last year, despite having four-less cylinders than the outgoing 3.4L V8’s. Besides making quite a good noise and looking magnificent, it’s actually quite quick on the track. The #39 Denso Kobleco RC F set the fastest lap time in testing.
