During last night's Heat game against the Spurs, LeBron James decided to remove the mask that he's worn for the last few games after he started the night shooting just 1-for-3 from the field. But unfortunately, that didn't help him find his touch. He went just 5-for-15 from the field during the rest of the game to finish 6-for-18 and Miami lost 111-87 to San Antonio.
King James thinks he knows why it was so difficult for him to make shots last night, too. According to him, it was due to the fact that the Heat and Spurs were forced to wear the NBA's new short-sleeve jerseys during last night's contest.
"I'm not making excuses," he said after scoring just 19 points during the game, "but I'm not a big fan of the jerseys. Every time I shoot it feels like it's just pulling right up underneath my arm. I already don't have much room for error on my jump shot. It's definitely not a good thing."
LeBron isn't the first NBA player to complain about the short-sleeve jerseys. There have been a handful of other players who have criticized them as well. But he's easily the most high-profile player to do it. So it'll be interesting to see what new NBA Commissioner Adam Silver decides to do with regards to the jerseys moving forward. Because if LeBron hates them, there's a good chance that they're not going to be around for much longer.
