It's been a very good return for Jason Collins since he signed with the Brooklyn Nets last month. The Stanford product has fulfilled his role while the Nets have went on a good stretch that has pushed them into the Eastern Conference playoffs discussion.
One of the biggest stories has been the warm embrace that Collins has received from NBA crowds as well as his teammates and NBA peers. Despite all of that, one NBA peer was not so nice on the other hand.
One player, one knucklehead from another team. He's a knucklehead. So I just let it go. Again, that goes back to controlling what you can control. That's how I conduct myself - just being professional.
Obviously, one can wonder what player Collins was talking about, but that's besides the point. Collins can be who he is without constant media noise and he won't create a distraction in the locker room like many people had tried to use as an excuse for him not to play.
