UPDATE: Nevermind! Although it sounds like Jared Allen was thisclose to signing with the Seahawks, he decided to take his talents to Chicago instead to play for the Bears next season. He inked a four-year, $32 million deal with the team.

Believe it or not, there are other things going on in the sports world outside of the 2014 NCAA Tournament. Specifically, there's one piece of news that's either going to make you really, really happy or really, really upset if you're an NFL fan.

According to league sources, the Seahawks have agreed to a deal with free agent Jared Allen. The terms of the deal have not been released as of yet. And there are still a few minor details for the two sides to work out. But Allen met with the Seahawks for the second time this week and is interested in joining their top-ranked defense next season. He's expected to sign with the 'Hawks as early as this afternoon.

Stay tuned for final confirmation. But all signs point towards the Seahawks landing one of the most prized defensive free agents on the market. As if they needed any help in that department.
