British Car Thieves Busted for Posting Stolen Car Photos on Facebook

Smarten up.

On one hand, I want to issue a PSA that tells people to stop broadcasting their crimes on social media. But the more that I think about it, it's probably better to stay silent and let the dumbest of the dumb fall victim to criminal Darwinism

The latest poster children for keeping your mouth shut are a couple of twenty-something car thieves, Matthew Murphy and Jonathan Dougan, from England. Their downfall began when someone directed the owner of a stolen motorcycle to a Facebook photo with Dougan and said motorcycle. That sparked a police investigation that eventually found nearly 50 photos of the two morons and stolen items.

As you can imagine, it wasn't hard to convict. Both criminals were sentenced to nine years and four months behind bars. The judge called them out on their arrogance, saying, "You took great pleasure in committing those crimes."

Now we get to take pleasure in their conviction.
