If you suffer from FOMO you might want to stop reading here. At SXSW, the series of events we already feel like we're missing out on, they have real-life Mario Kart. Let me repeat that. REAL-LIFE MARIO KART, son.
Pennzoil and Nintendo set up a go-kart track to let attendees live out their childhood fantasies for four laps. Each go-kart has a GoPro so video editors can insert graphics from the game because you can't fire a giant red shell at your friend in real life. When drivers pick up a power up their go-kart will actually speed up.
If you are fortunate enough to be in Austin right now, don't think you can Mario Kart loaded. You'll have to pass a breathalyzer to get behind the wheel.
