On Dec. 27, the Oklahoma City Thunder announced that Russell Westbrook would need to undergo a second procedure after experiencing some swelling in his right knee. Initially, the timetable stipulated that Westbrook would be out until after the All-Star break, but no specific date was set. Now, according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports, the Thunder will have Russ re-evaluated on Tuesday and if everything looks good, he could return to the court as early as Thursday against the Miami Heat.
While Thunder fans will undoubtedly look forward to having the old 1-2 combo of Westbrook and Durant back, they gotta feel as though OKC were doing just fine without him. In fact, the Thunder are 22-8 this season in Russ' absence. How do you feel about Westbrook's return? Are you welcoming him with open arms or do you believe in the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach? Sound off in the comment section.
