Late yesterday, Missouri defensive end Michael Sam came out and told the entire world that he is gay. And for the most part, he received a lot of praise for being brave enough to do it. There were some people out there—including anonymous NFL personnel and several NFL players—who weren't very receptive to the news about Sam's sexuality. But for the most part, the SEC defensive player of the year received a lot of support from all around the country.

He's also receiving a lot of support from his school. His soon-to-be-former head coach Gary Pinkel has spoken with several media outlets about Sam and expressed his love for him. Some of Sam's Mizzou teammates have done the same. And earlier today, a group of Missouri students came together to create this for Sam:

It's Sam's last name written in the snow at Missouri's Faurot Field. And it's one of the nicest tributes we've seen anyone make to Sam.

The guy is going to be under intense scrutiny over the next few months. So it's nice to see someone doing something nice for him right now. Let's hope that the support continues to come.
