When the IndianaPacerstraded Danny Granger to the Philadelphia 76ers last week in exchange for Evan Turner and Lavoy Allen, Granger was not happy. And really, can you blame him for being upset with the deal? He went from being on one of the best teams in the NBA's Eastern Conference to a team that's probably not going to win more than five games between now and the end of the 2013-14 NBA season. But it appears as though there's a silver lining in all of this for Granger.
Even though Granger was in Philadelphia this weekend—and even though he met with 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie—Granger isn't expected to be with the Sixers for very long. He has reportedly expressed an interest in having Philadelphia buy out the remainder of his contract. And the Sixers are said to be interested in doing it. So while Granger is scheduled to meet with Sixers coach Brett Brown early this week, that meeting might just be a formality. And Granger's contract might be bought out within the next few days.
If the Sixers do buy out Granger's contract, he could sign with another team before the end of the season. And he could end up making a real impact on the NBA Playoffs this season. Stay tuned to see where he ends up next.
