When you hear the words "road rage," what comes to mind? An angry driver flipping the bird to another driver? An angry driver yelling an obscenity at another driver? An angry driver pulling over to confront another driver after an incident on the road? Well, one angry driver in Raleigh, N.C. took road rage to a whole other level recently.
When Christopher Jost picked up his daughter from the movies last Saturday night, he never expected to be the victim of a driver suffering from a serious case of road rage. But as he was driving home, someone came up from behind him and hit his car for no reason. He initially assumed that it was just an accident. But then, the driver of the other car backed up and continued to ram into his car over and over again. And he didn't stop there, either.
Jost was eventually able to pull into the parking lot of a supermarket and call 911. But the other driver didn't pull off like he expected him to. Instead, he followed Jost into the parking lot and continued to hit him. So Jost grabbed his daughter, jumped out of the car, and ran into the supermarket to safety. But much to his surprise, the other driver followed him and his daughter there, too, and chased the pair around the store until police arrived. It sounds like it was a pretty intense and surreal scene to say the least.
Jost and his daughter were able to avoid getting into a direct confrontation with the other driver. And eventually, police showed up and arrested the man, who was later identified as 25-year-old Remy Blaisdell Gagon. Gagon was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault, and one count of careless driving. There's been no word about what sparked him to go after Jost and his daughter. But whatever it was, it couldn't have been that serious, right? Right. So crazy.
