As good as Allen Iverson was, a lot of people probably wouldn't put him in their NBAMount Rushmore. Iverson is certainly one of the few who would, though.

His former coach Larry Brown revealed on Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel that Iverson told his current collegiate players at SMU he was the greatest ever. Brown did say he was the greatest competitor of all time—which you can certainly make an argument for—but didn't co-sign him being the greatest player during his anecdote:

Bryant Gumbel: “Himself.”

This could very well be the competitor in him talking, but it definitely would've been more understandable if he'd said this when he was still playing. But this is in retrospect, and there are more than a handful of athletes who trump his accomplishments. Like the ones he named, for example.
