Remember the Nissan IDx concept from the Tokyo Motor Show? It was billed as a modern version of the Datsun 510 Coupe, which meant to our ears that it was designed to be a competitor to the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ twins.
The IDx Freestyle was more lifestyle oriented, being powered by a small turbo I4 engine good for a modest amount of power, while the IDx Nismo was a bit more aggressive, with a slightly larger, 188 hp turbo I4. Nissan executive vice president Andy Palmer said of the cars “Don’t say that we won’t do both, but we will definitely do one of them.”
So there you have it. At least one of these will hit the market, probably in 2016, and we really hope it's the Nismo version.
