Four years ago a group called USF1 aspired to be America's Formula One team. It didn't work.

Now another group is hoping to be a red, white, and blue but not French, Russian, or British F1 team. The difference is that this team is being backed By Gene Haas, owner of NASCAR's Stewart-Haas racing. F1 is currently looking to add a team or two for the 2015 or 2016 seasons.

While Haas hasn't yet made an official statement, rumor has it that his cars would run on a Dallara chassis and Ferrari engine. The rumor mill is also saying that Guenther Steiner, former technical director for Red Bull F1 and Red Bull NASCAR, will be involved.
