Is Kyrie Irving Already Thinking About Leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers?

Reportedly, yes.

The Cavaliers have been one of the biggest disappointments in the NBA this season. Despite the fact that the Eastern Conference is an absolute joke this year, the Cavs are just 16-29 and are currently three games out of the playoff picture. At the beginning of the year, many people picked them as a surefire playoff team. But at the moment, they're behind teams like the Bobcats, Pistons, and even the Knicks for the eighth spot in the East.

That appears to be taking a toll on Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving. He hasn't come out and said anything about his future with the team just yet. But according to ESPN's Chad Ford—who held a chat with SportsNation fans earlier this afternoon—Irving is thinking about leaving Cleveland as soon as possible.

"Kyrie Irving has been telling people privately he wants out," Ford said, before talking about what the Cavs are going to do to try to keep him. "Cleveland can't afford to lose him and LeBron. They know the urgency. I expect them to be major players at the deadline."

Could Ford be wrong here? Sure. Could Irving be perfectly content with the way things are going in Cleveland? Of course. But seeing as how the team is struggling this season, there's probably some truth to Ford's comments. And Cleveland is going to need to do whatever they can to get Irving to change his mind quickly. So look for them to do some wheeling-and-dealing as we inch closer to the NBA trade deadline.
