With the New Year comes a new resolution, a new you, and a new outlook on life (which will surely be crushed by February, at the latest). Expect no changes (unless you're an Oregonian who wants to eat placenta) and expect the Internet to be as troll-heavy as ever. It wouldn't be the same if you couldn't be attacked for any innocuous comment, at any time, by a complete stranger. That means you can expect many more stupid comments, with sports stories being no exception.

The topics that seemed to light up the boards this week were: Dwyane Wade's, uh...familial addition, Chris Kluwe's comments on the Vikings brass, and Aaron Rodgers' sexuality. That's what we in the know call a slow news week. Or, at least we would if it didn't involve BCS Bowls and the final week of the NFL season. That same Aaron Rodgers threw a touchdown against what was allegedly the "Chicago Bears defense." But stupid comments stem from stupid stories. Here were the Dumbest Sports Comments from 12/27 through 1/2.

One comment makes sense. Two, sometimes you got to clarify. But all afternoon? If you spent yesterday sleeping until three, watched some porn and then went back to bed, you still accomplished more than the 2,500 people who just alternated between commenting, refreshing and trying to one up each other on this freakin' story. When you spend a few hours a day commenting about gay marriage on the "Worldwide Leader's" comment site (which is about sports last we checked) then there are no winners. And we don't mean that in a metaphorical way, we mean, seriously, every one of these people are losers.

Except for, maybe, the Red Sox there's no more over-glorified and exposed team than the Bronx Bombers. Has this dude every heard of Phil Rizzuto, after all?


We know many of you don't care that much about baseball, but this type of commenting idiocy had to be documented somewhere in history. Oh, and not only did Andy Pettitte have stats beneath his contemporaries and use PEDs, but he also just retired which wouldn't make him eligible for the HOF until 2018.


The real Penn State victim...is Joe Paterno? SMH.
