If the Broncos are able to beat the Seahawks and win the Super Bowl on Sunday, there will be at least one player who will likely retire and ride off into the sunset. And that player will not be Peyton Manning.
Manning has been doing interviews for the last few days and telling people that retirement is the last thing on his mind right now. But for his teammate Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, retirement might be a real possibility if Denver can win on Sunday. Even though he's only been in the NFL for six years now—and even though he's only 27—DRC told reporters that he originally only wanted to play for five years when he first entered the league. So he's going to think long and hard about retiring if he's able to become a world champion this weekend.
"I set a goal of five years," he said earlier today. "I've played six."
So let us get this straight: If the Broncos win the Super Bowl, Denver safety Mike Adamsis going to walk 12 miles to his hometown of Paterson, N.J. and Rodgers-Cromartie is going to retire? Boy, these Broncos sure know how to celebrate, don't they?!
