Yesterday was a bad day for Browns wide receiver Davone Bess. And today isn't looking like it's going to be any better.

According to reports out of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Bess—who made headlines on Thursday after he posted a photo of weed to his Twitter account for the second time in less than a month—was arrested just after 6 a.m. today at Fort Lauderdale International Airport and charged with assaulting an officer/firefighter. There aren't many details available about the alleged assault yet. But the Browns have already been informed of the situation and are looking into it:

#Browns statement on Davone Bess arrest: "The team is aware of the situation and currently working to gather more information.''

Stay tuned for additional information about the arrest.

UPDATE:

Miami Herald reporter Adam Beasley has the scoop on exactly what happened this morning before Bess was arrested:

Bess was walking down the concourse "acting irrationally," singing, dancing with his pants falling down.
When the officer went up to Bess to have him stop, he crushed a cup of coffee on him, and got into a fighting stance.
Officer struck him in the leg with his ASP (his baton?), but it had no effect. Bess then took off his shirt, and got in fighting stance.
Bess finally complied with the order and was taken into custody. The officer believes he was on drugs at the time of the incident.

UPDATE 2:

Bess is no longer in police custody, but he hasn't spoken about the airport incident yet. Here are a couple images of him leaving jail this morning:
