Yamaha Is Going to Start Selling Cars

But first, a three-wheeler.

Yamaha's stock price has been slipping, despite strong motorcycle, ATV, electronics, and musical instrument offerings. Being the massive conglomerate that it is, Yamaha has decided to start selling cars as well.

The first vehicle under the new strategy will be the Tricity three-wheeler (shown) that will hit showrooms in 2014, but we can also expect a two seat city car that's powered by a 1,000 cc engine and a small electric car to follow in another year or two. The company plans to sell 100,000 cars in Japan alone, so it's clear that the company is going balls-to-the-proverbial-wall with this whole car thing.

No word on whether any of these new products will be offered in the USA.
