Riding a bike in winter can be absolutely awful. North American winters, however, are balmy when compared to a South Pole winter, and that's exactly where one lunatic is hoping to pedal this recumbent trike.
Maria Leijerstam of Britain will attempt to pedal her way across 400 miles of ice and snow in 50 mph winds and average temperatures of 31 degrees below zero against other crazies on two wheeled bikes. The trike was built by Inspired Cycle Engineering (ICE), and if it makes it we'll be seriously impressed.
