There are plenty of athletes who have their own crazy, weird and absurd superstitions. This one is pretty high up there. For the New Orleans Saints, they believe in the power of Popeyes. Yes, it's exactly what you're thinking. In an article by The Shreveport Times, the Saints' Robert Meachem and Pierre Thomas reveal that the fast food chain has played a pivotal role in their success on the road, especially during their 2009 playoff run. We'll let Thomas and Meachem explain:

“Coach has got to give us Popeyes in the plane again,” wide receiver Robert Meachem said. “Everybody’s talking about that. Every road trip in ’09 we had Popeyes. Coach needs to bring back the Popeyes. Wherever we play, whoever we play, when we get on the plane – have the Popeyes ready.”

For all the folks placing bets out there for Saturday's Eagles/Saints game, if you find out that the New Orleans players munched on some Popeyes prior to kickoff, you may want to put your money on the black and gold.
