It was another Sunday, another loss for the now 2-10 Texans. This lattest one doesn't come without a few raised eyebrows though. It's not because people are wondering how the hell a 2-0 team got so bad. Defensive end Antonio Smith thought his team may have been on the wrong end of Spygate II after losing to the Patriots, 34-31.
The main reason behind Smith's suspicions was how the Texans just started running some of their defensive plays today, so there is no way New England could have game film to prepare to counteract like they did. This led Smith to draw a conclusion: The Patriots were scouting them during this week's practice. "I'm very suspicious," Smith said, according to ESPN. "I just think it will be a big coincidence if that just happened by chance. I don't know for sure, but I just know it was something that we practiced this week."
Smith is making a valid point, but at the same time, a 2-10 team that's struggling on both ends doesn't have the credibility to make those accusations. Now if Peyton Manning said the same thing last week, it would be bigger news.
