UPDATE: Mack Brown says that he has not decided to step down.

For the last 16 years, Mack Brown has been the head coach of the Texas Longhorns. He's put together a 158-47 record with the team and led Texas to a BCS National Championship in 2005. But despite all of his success, a lot of people called for him to step down as head coach of the Longhorns earlier this fall when the team went through a rough patch. And now, it sounds like he has decided to do just that.

Nothing has been confirmed yet—and Texas has actually denied that any decision concerning Brown's future with the team has been made. But according to a report that was first published by Orangebloods, Brown has decided to step down as the head coach at Texas. And that already has some people speculating about who will replace him:

Odds on next Texas head coach: Nick Saban +1000 / Field -1500

Nick Saban? Hmmm…Still sounds like a long shot. But if Brown really is leaving the Longhorns, we imagine that, at the very least, Saban will get a hard sell from the team. Stay tuned.
