Keenan Allen started off slow in his first couple of games in the NFL, Hell, Allen didn't even play in what was his debut. It was that poor start to his career that nearly made the third round pick out of California call it quits. “After I didn’t play after that first game, I was about another snap away of not playing from quitting,” Allen said, via U-T San Diego. “[I wasn't] living up to my expectations of starting. I’ve never been a role player-type guy. Not easy at all. … I’ve never had to do it before. I never had to adjust.”
After injuries to fellow Chargers wide receivers Denario Alexander and Malcom Floyd, and a phone call from his mother, Allen finally got a legit chance to prove his worth and he hasn't looked back. With 967 yards, 66 catches and eight touchdowns, the 21-year-old has gone from nearly going back to school to pursue a career in music to being 45 yards away from setting a new Bolts' rookie record for receiving yards.
Yeah, guess Allen made the right choice after all.
