On Saturday, Jameis Winston came away with the award Tre Mason should've received. And our opinion is based on just stats. While playing in a harder conference and against more ranked opponents (six to four), Mason flourished. Against four of the nation's top 50 ranked rushing defenses (Missouri, Alabama, Georgia, LSU), Tre averaged 178 yards per game, including his SEC Championship Game perfomance.

More people should have noticed how valuable Mason was to a team which ranked 107th in passing yards and unlike the Seminoles' top five ranked defense, barely cracked the top 100.

Winston was great, but Mason was a game changer.
