Early yesterday, an Entertainment Tonight report revealed that Dwyane Wade had fathered a child while he was "on a break" from his fiancée Gabrielle Union sometime within the last year. Late yesterday, Wade himself went on the record and confirmed that he had, in fact, gotten a woman pregnant during a break in his relationship with Union.
"I had a time, a part in our break, in our pain and our hurt, a blessing came out of it in my life," he said, "having a son that was born healthy."
And now, we have more details about both the child and the child's mother thanks to a birth certificate for the baby, which was obtained by TMZ Sports a short time ago. According to the birth certificate, the baby boy's name is Xavier Zechariah Wade. He was born on November 10, 2013. And his mother is Los Angeles resident Aja Metoyer, a 30-year-old woman who, according to TMZ Sports, has two other children with Damon Wayans Jr., the son of comedian/actor Damon Wayans. TMZ is also reporting that Wade has seen the baby several times now, most recently on Christmas Day when the Heat were in L.A. to play the Lakers.
