A few weeks ago, we told you all about how Major League Soccer's Toronto FC was reportedly using Drake in order to entice players to join their roster next season. Alberto Gilardino, Jermain Defoe, and Samuel Eto'o were a few of the players that they were said to be targeting, according to sources within their organization. And now, it sounds like they may have landed one of them.

Nothing has been confirmed just yet. But according to the Mirror, Defoe has reportedly agreed to play for Toronto FC next MLS season. And the Mirror notes that the Tottenham striker made his decision after receiving a phone call from Drake, who asked Defoe to seriously consider coming to Canada. The reported deal will pay Defoe about $150,000 per week and will include free flights and the use of two homes.

As we mentioned, this deal has not been finalized. So if you're a Toronto FC fan, don't go celebrating just yet. But if it does end up going through, it'll obviously be a big deal for Toronto FC, MLS, Defoe, and, maybe most of all, Drake.
