Does This Donte Whitner Hit Look Like Unsportsmanlike Conduct to You?

Let's do a little better, refs.

The NFL's rules made to protect defenseless players are great in concept, but it's too often poor in its execution. San Francisco safety Donte Whitner did pretty much all he could do to play within the rules in this collision with the Falcons' Steven Jackson. He turned his head away and led with his shoulders to avoid helmet-to-helmet contact. But because NFL officiating is ridiculous, Whitner got called with unsportsmanlike conduct. So what should've been called a clean play becomes another example of poor officiating, giving Jim Harbaugh another reason to completely lose it and start eating faces.
