At last! WE HAVE THE REAL THING! Not renderings, not mock-ups, not spies, not leaks, not concepts or toys or fuzzy video footage. These are finally the official images courtesy of Ford. Here are some immediate notes about the new car, which we'll be seeing in person in roughly 10 hours:
- Engine options are 3.7L V6, 5.0L V8 and twin-scroll turbocharged 2.3L 4-cylinder EcoBoost.
- The GT will have more than 420hp and 390 lb-ft of torque.
- The V6 will have at least 300hp and 270 lb-ft of torque.
- The EcoBoost will have at least 305hp and 300 lb-ft of torque.
- There is an updated manual gearbox and an automatic with paddle shifters (!).
- The front suspension has a new perimeter subframe to help with stiffness and a double-ball-joint MacPherson strut system.
- The rear has INTEGRAL-LINK INDEPENDENT SUSPENSION.
- It has selectable drive modes that alter "steering effort, ending response, and transmission and electronic stability control settings"
- It has standard launch control.
- It will feature Intelligent Access with push-button start.
- Available Blind Spot Information Systems with cross-traffic alert and adaptive cruise control are options, as well as SYNC.
- It will be available late 2014
