The NBA isn't playing around right now when it comes to handing out suspensions. Yesterday, they gave one to Hawks rookie Dennis Schröder for hitting DeMarcus Cousins below the belt. And this morning, they announced that Vince Carter will have to sit out a game after elbowing Thunder rookie Steven Adams in the head during a Mavericks/Thunder game the other night. Carter has already apologized for throwing the errant elbow.

"I just want to apologize to the fans of both sides," he said. "There's no need for it. They're trying to clean up the game and make it fun for fans to watch. It was one of those things where I got caught in the moment and reacted to a reaction that was done to you. My intentions have never been that way. It's just one of those things."

One of those things that just so happens to earn you a one-game suspension. NBA players, be warned: The NBA will suspend you if you do something wrong on the court this season. So please act accordingly.
