Well, things just went from bad to worse for the Los Angeles Lakers. After getting dismantled by the Minnesota Timberwolves, 113-90, on Sunday night, the Lakers were dealt another tragic blow with the news that Steve Nash was diagnosed with nerve root irritation in his back. The injury will keep Nash sidelined for a "minimum" of two weeks. On Tuesday, Nash will receive an epidural which will lead to a re-evaluation of his back in 10 days.

In late October, teammate Pau Gasolexpressed a little concern over the 39-year-old point guard's health and those fears are now being realized. With Kobe Bryant still rehabbing, the Lakers probably would've loved to have a veteran like Nash leading the team at the start of the season, but father time may be getting in the way. It happens to everyone eventually.
